I gave shopping for Lent (a conviction I’ve stuck to simply because my husband didn’t believe I could do it) and every time I see a sale notice posted on my tumblr dashboard I mutter “slut” under my breath.
At the rate I’m going I’ll have to send a handwritten apology to TallGirlTales.

Lunch date blues
Usually when I come back to St. Louis I meet up with one of my girlfriends and we have the same monthly sushi lunch we had when I lived here but this week she’s completely booked up for lunch and dinner!
I’m trying to decide if I want to sit in a sushi restaurant by myself or if it’s just all sorts of awkward.

I’ve gotten so used to working at home in near silence that I literally jumped out of my chair in surprise when a coworker stopped by my cubicle to say hi.

Monkey Bread
Mark and I had guests this weekend and like a good hostess I made breakfast this morning in the form of monkey bread and coffee.
Monkey bread is a childhood favorite of mine, we didn’t have it very often, mostly special occasions or Christmas breakfast. Always sooooo good, so gooey, so buttery.
I wanted to make scrambled eggs and bacon to accompany it but Mark warned me that not everyone...

Brights
March is birthday month in my family, my little sister and my dad both have birthdays, I’m on my way to the post office to send off a gift (hence the brown paper package).
While rummaging through my dresser for a completely different top I found this bright orange-y tee. I think I remember buying it a couple years ago from Express - if memory serves, I grabbed it off the table nearby...

It's chilly again
It got cold again for some reason and my winter coat is at the dry cleaners. Wah wah.
Then I remembered I own I very nice sweater jacket (Banana) that I’ve been neglecting. It’s 3/4 sleeve so I really only feel comfortable wearing it with long sleeves, it’s quite warm so if it’s nice enough outside to wear 3/4 sleeves it’s usually too warm to wear this jacket....

Why isn't there a 'get-yo-shit-together' fairy?
Why is it that it takes something important falling through the cracks to realize you need to get yourself back on track?
Time for a bubble bath, some tea, and a good hour of list-making of what’s on my plate.

Hey you - with the boobs
Ladies - I have a question for you - do you have a favorite swimsuit brand?
As uncomfortable as I am with this conversation and the huge likelihood a bunch of porn tumblrs will start following me I am curious.
Problem: I’m chesty for my frame and in need of a new swimsuit.
Most of the swimsuits I find in stores are just fabric and string and I need more than that. I’m not on a Real...

The end of my 5x5x5
5 weeks ago I decided to go about with what I called a 5x5x5. This consisted of working out for an hour 5 days a week for 5 weeks to lose 5 lbs. The 5lbs thing would be a bonus but not a necessity.
My goal was to get in shape for a beach trip that ended up being scratched from the agenda. I went through with it anyway.
I lost….dun dun dun….1.5 lbs.
Wah wah.
No big though, I doubted...

St. Patrick's Day
Started at 7am at Kegs and Eggs, ran into IrishMexi, guess what, she’s cool in real life too.
Drank and watched basketball from about 11-4pm, not my cup of tea but it was with good company, plus it was at our place and I LOVE playing hostess.
4pm-7pm We had to go outside, it was too beautiful. It was 78 degrees, I was actually sweating. At one point I got hit on on my way back from a trip...

$10 Kegs and Eggs tomorrow
$10 for a breakfast buffet and bottomless drinks on St. Patty’s day, 7am-10am?
Sign me up.
These people are seriously underestimating my love of breakfast and booze. T-minus 1 hour and 20 minutes until I’m my St. Patty’s vacation.
Thanks for the advice!
Shirt is now tucked.

what kind of sushi is this? and what type of sushi do you normally eat or would prefer to always eat?
I had two pieces of nigiri (tuna and salmon), a salmon roll (salmon, cucumber, and roe), and a salmon/avocado roll.
I like most sushi but I don’t particularly enjoy california rolls or any roll...

Girlin' Out with a DIY Hair Treatment aka...
As part of girlie time I decided to try a DIY hair mask, mostly because you all suggested it.
I did about 2 minutes of research and found a formula to try:
2 small avocados
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup honey
It’s supposed to give you shiny, voluminous hair. My hair is fine and limp, I also have a lot of it, so this seemed like something I need. Plus I only did 2 minutes of...

Need your help: girlin' out
Here’ the sitch: my husband (a student in dental school) is on his Spring Break. In order to avoid driving me crazy while I work (from home) he’s going to spend 3 days at a friend’s lakeside cabin with the guys. This leaves me, by myself.
Marriage is many things and one of those things is getting a lifelong roommate. Luckily, that person is your best friend and you love them but...
